Dr. Katie Woolaston is a distinguished lawyer, educator, and social scientist with over 17 years of expertise in environmental and climate governance, biodiversity law, and sustainability policy. She is the Director of Green Governance Solutions and formerly served as Senior Lecturer in Law at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Dr. Woolaston has advised the Australian Government, UNEP, FAO, and Wildlife Health Australia on environmental and climate law reforms, and is a globally recognized expert on the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) panel on Biodiversity and Pandemics. She also chairs the Technical Advisory Group for the United Nations Environment Programme’s Nature4Health initiative.
Dr. Woolaston was formerly the Vice-President of the National Environmental Law Association, Associate Editor of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Environmental Law, and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law. She is internationally respected for her contributions to evidence-based environmental policy, carbon compliance frameworks, and One Health governance.
